Wedding Hairstyle of the Week: Feeling Knotty

Blond

Love, Love, Love this updo! It's so soft and romantic, but looks like it will stay put all night long.

The flower is pretty for a beach or outdoor wedding, but I think by swapping in a vinage brooch, this updo could easily work for a more formal affair.

The Perfect Preview: Bridal Designers at Fashion Week

Fashoinweek

It's fashion week in New York City this week, when all the designers (big and small) debut their Spring 2010 collections to buyers, editors and press. I absolutely love this fashion week because I get a glimpse of what might appear on the Bridal Fashion runways.

This year, based on these gorgeous looks from Reem Acra, Lela Rose and Monique Lhuillier, I think it's going to be all about draping.

Ball gowns and textured tulle were huge last season, a return to the grecian look could be really exciting!

Would you wear any of these ready-to-wear designs for your weddding?

TGIF: Get Your Bridezilla Fix on TV Tonight

Sayyes

Okay, so most of the girls on Say Yes to the Dress aren't exactly Bridezillas, but there is always some drama! Luckily all my dress shopping experiences at Kleinfeld have been drama-free. My best friend found her Amsale dress there, and I was the only one crying (happy tears of course).
Can't wait to see what happens tonight.

Is anyone else tuning in?

Something Blue: Gown Inspired Bridal Beauty

filed under: Beauty, Dresses
Blue

In anticipation for the Spring 2010 Bridal Fashion Week (it starts October 16th!) I thought I'd use one of my favorite gowns from last season to show of my latest beauty obsession — blue-infused smokey shadow.

This Reem Acra dress caught my eye the minute it hit the runway. See, I'm a minimalist when it comes to everyday fashion — jeans, t-shirt, cute flats and I'm out the door, but I'm a sucker for a flirty, feminine wedding gowns (especially ones with subtle blue sashes).

Going for smokey eyes? Keep the rest of your makeup fresh and clean. Try a lip tint or sheer coverage lipstick instead of something completely opaque and opt for a blush that adds a hint of color.

Wrist Watch: My Favorite Chunky Bracelets

BANGLES

Don't get me wrong, I love stackable bangles, but they can get a little noisy. Chunkier bracelets are a great alternative. These three styles are all wedding worthy.

Will you wear a bracelet on your wedding day?

Bridal Fashion From A to Z: P is for Pearl

filed under: Dresses, Fashion
Pearldress

I'm always amazed how designers can take the smallest, most traditional gemstone (like the pearl) and create such unique and gorgeous gowns.

This Christos gown is truly one of my all-time favorite creations. The sleeves are so gorgeous and they make this very simple A-line dress absolute perfection!

For a bit more bling, this Reem Acra dress is definitely next on my list. The pearls have an ombre-like effect - super dense on the bodice then trickling into nothing on the skirt.

Okay glamour girls, this Platinum for Priscilla of Boston gown is for you. A fit and flair gown with scattered pearls from head-to-toe. It's elegant drama at it's best.

What do you think? Have I made a pearl-lover out of any of you?

Wedding Hairstyle of the Week: Twisted Updo

Hairstyleoftheweek1

Okay, if I were to get married tomorrow I would 100 percent choose this updo. It's classic, but still modern, soft, but still very polished...right?

I spotted it in Lindsey and Britton's Wedding Photos (in case you want to check it out from the front).

What do you think about my pick of the week?

Eye Candy: Who Needs Waterproof Mascara?

Eyes copy

For teary-eyed brides a good eye-makeup remover tool is the ultimate necessity. One of these three should do the trick:

1.If you've been tuning in to The Knot LIVE then you've probably caught a glimpse of me on camera, and maybe even noticed that my makeup is flawless (I can't take credit for that). My glamorous look is all thanks to Tim Robbins (our fabulous Makeup Artist). He swears by Paula Dorf's Sweep Away Clean Up Stick, and I've quickly become a believer. It removes any shadow that ends up under my eyes without removing any of my foundation.

2.Model Co's Eye Liquid Buds have a tiny bit of makeup remover packed into the cotton swaps which make them perfect for renegade mascara globs.

3.You can also check out Sephora's Makeup Eraser Pen. Like the Paula Dorf pen, it can remove smudges without disturbing the rest of your makeup.

Test Run: Lady Obama Lipstick for Every Bride

IXD0Q1MWCuobama-1lg

So, has everyone heard about the Lady Obama Lipstick phenomenon?

Well just in case you're late to the party here's a little background:
The celebrity makeup artist Khuraira created a special edition lipstick in honor of the first lady, and claims it's good for every woman... no matter what their skin tone.

I've got a light olive complexion and dark brown hair and I'll let you know what I think (I'm getting a sample sent my way tomorrow!)

Has anyone else tried it? I would love to know if it really looks good on ALL skin tones.
